Coinbase (AgentKit / x402 / Agentic Wallets)
Coinbase Developer Platform gives AI agents onchain wallets, an open HTTP payment protocol, and a skills library for sending, trading, and earning crypto.
Agents get a non-custodial wallet secured via MPC and TEEs, with programmable spend controls, that can send, trade, and receive crypto autonomously via the AgentKit skills library or an MCP server.

Gotchas
- AgentKit is an open-source framework layered on top; the underlying custody is provided by CDP Server Wallets v2.
- Also integrates with third-party wallet providers Privy and Viem rather than only Coinbase-custodied wallets.
Agents and servers get an open HTTP payment protocol (x402) that lets a client pay for an API or resource in stablecoins directly over an HTTP 402 response, with Coinbase's hosted facilitator handling verification and onchain settlement.

- Pricing
- Coinbase's hosted x402 facilitator gives a free tier of 1,000 settled payments per month, then charges $0.001 per settled payment.
Gotchas
- x402 is an open, permissionless protocol; using it does not require any Coinbase product, and anyone can run their own facilitator instead of Coinbase's hosted one.
Our take
Coinbase bundles three related but distinct pieces under this umbrella: AgentKit (an open-source, Apache-2.0 skills framework for wallet actions across frameworks like LangChain and MCP), Agentic Wallets (MPC/TEE-secured non-custodial wallets with spend controls, launched February 2026), and x402 (an open HTTP-based stablecoin payment protocol and Coinbase-hosted facilitator). Only the wallet and payment-rail pieces fall in the money category for this registry; AgentKit itself is a dev-tooling SDK layered on top.
